Back in our favourite region and one that means a lot to our family – just 45 km from the city of Bolzano, sits San Martin in South Tyrol. This beautiful commune is filled with majority German-speaking families, and its hills and valleys are filled with rich blood orange and olive tree groves. With a large farming community, it's not hard to see why their weekend markets thrive, and why one of the most anticipated events of the summers is the long table dinners that get set with big communal pots, pans, and sharing plates - beckoning the whole community and neighbouring villages to join.
