Lucia. It would be hard not to smile whilst an Italian lets this beautiful name roll off their tongue. Meaning 'light', Lucia Valentini Terrani was a particularly gifted mezzo-soprano, much loved in her native country. We imagine Lucia sat backstage many a night in her dressing room, preparing her voice and adorning her body with the fabulous hair and makeup that came with her infamous Rossini roles.
